Functioning, real world physics? My world is flat, and ever expanding. You can dig into the ground forever, and find nothing but more dirt, rock, and metals. Oh, and modern technology doesn't work.

Do you have a reason, however fantastic and crazy, for why modern tech doesn't work? Or is it that no one's invented it yet? With infinite land expansion modern tech, warfare, and progress go out the window.

Well, the world is infinite, but the explorable world isn't. After a while of going in any direction, you reach the spirit world. The physical world, which encompasses all of the hospitable lands as well as the spirit world, is made up of a single driving force, that splits apart and recombines in various ways, to make everything. In the hospitable world, the force splits into four distinct forces, which combine together to form everything else. The reason modern tech isn't possible is because electricity doesn't work the same. It doesn't flow through just anything, and is quite partial to the air. It's a deviation on the same force that makes up the air. Any implications this might have on the world, itself, physics wise, is overpowered by the mystic force of hand-waving, since physics don't really exist, as we know them.

Hey, a fellow flat worlder! How fast can people realistically travel in your world? And is there a limit on inhabited lands, or do you have a very high population?

I'd say as fast as one could in the real world, before the advent of cars, planes, and such. There are two major continents, as well as some minor islands. If you go out to sea to find more, unexplored lands, you'd quickly find yourself in the spirit world. This is a place where nothing is stagnant. Everything changes, and two people could experience completely different worlds at the same time.

You could go with a secretive or perhaps overt group that specifically bans it and polices it, thinking it's since divine or arcane force not to be trifles with. Years of propaganda, abuse, and garnering of power make it a nearly suicidal to use electricity.

I'm an aspiring Fantasy writer, and I've ended up with a cosmology that that is quite different from that of earth. In my world there are no stars other than the sun, and only the moon to reflect light at night. So nights get pretty dark in my world, in particular around the new moon.

Fantasy world that doesn't have "gods" the way most fantasy worlds do. In most fantasy worlds, gods are powerful beings that are powerful because they are worshipped, or just because they are powerful. In mine, they were born as mortals, but mastered spiritual arts and divine magic to become immortal.
