Whether you work with electronics all day or you happen to be doing some DIY home or car repair, or anything else with electrical contacts, you'll occasionally come across some dirty or corroded contacts that need cleaning.
Not everyone keeps contact cleaner handy, but that same eraser you used to fix your spelling mistakes in grade school will usually do the trick.
Obviously it has it's limits, if something's so corroded that it crumbles when you press it gently with your fingertips, an eraser won't help.

Did this all the time when i worked on aircraft, it worked like a charm.
