It's a liquid to liquid heat exchanger. Pump water through little holes, it goes through tubes, and transfers heat into whatever it was screwed in to. Probably a big cast iron radiator filled with oil.

Would you be surprised if someone said your mom's dildo?

I own a house which is ~140 yrs old. Ive found several antiques and odd objets around the house. This one, other than it looks like some kind of heating or cooling coil ive never been able to figure. It it was some king of boiler it must have been huge and i cant hardly imaging it bei g in my home. Wtf is that thing?
Awaiting buttplug references

The house was originally coal fired. I still have a coal chute ive screwed closed and a set of old beat to hell coal tools. Shovel and a rake thing. At some point single pipe boiler steam heating was installed. Which i currently still use.
My real question i guess is the size of that object. Its like 18" long and a good 4.5 " diameter. Its a reaaly large object to be any kind of home boiler or radiator. It would have to be a tank the size of a room. Maybe someone in the past brought it home from some industrial job or factory.

The inner workings of a tesla coil?
[–] MrPim [S] 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
Other than being copper it doesnt appear electrical in anyway. It appears to be a fluid appliance of some king. To copper coil is a hollow tube wrapped around and around. And there are ports into that tubing on the big screw in base. Its like a radiator coil of some sort.
I kinda think other than that general description im not going to find out. Its an old object few will have seen. But i said, wtf ill post this thing up cause idk what it is.

I have trouble believing that. Ive seen coil springs on grage door and this doesnt look like any ive seen. Look at the second picture i posted. It has ports for the copper coil. Its not very springlike.
