The manager pulled me aside today to talk about this incident.
She had a 'bodyguard' with her. Just some jacked counter worker, I assume he was there in case I did something stupid. She was obviously nervous about the subject and he just sat there with his arms crossed the whole time.
The first thing out of her mouth was "do you know why I wanted to talk to you?". I told her I didn't, that I keep to myself when I'm working out and couldn't think of a reason she would want to talk with me. She goes on to tell me that the bagel from a few days ago told her that I was personally harassing him with racial slurs.
I told her I don't go around harassing people and asked her what slurs she was talking about. This was the best part, I wish I could portray how nervous she was when all she had to do was say "kike". I was holding back laughter but managed to keep a straight face after she muttered "kike" as quietly as she could.
I relaxed in my chair, pretending to think for a moment and said "you must be talking about when I got upset on the phone with my mother. That was a personal conversation between myself and her, it's not very polite to be eavesdropping on a private conversation". Thanks @Slayfire122 for the inspiration.
She looked confused and asked me if that's what really happened. I said yes and that there were half a dozen or so people in the locker room that could vouch for me. I went on to say that I didn't understand why a stranger would get upset about my language while speaking on the phone and why he had the audacity to lie about it to the management.
Then she tells me about this bastard and his reoccurring habit of telling the staff he's been harassed when no harassment has taken place. So not only did he lie about my actions but apparently there are others he's tried to get banned because of things they didn't say to his face. It turned into a boy who cries wolf situation and she apologized for inconveniencing me.
I told her she needs to have a similar talk with him since he keeps lying and stirring the pot for no reason. Considering we live in the u.s. under the first amendment he has no reason to be complaining about others personal conversations.
She reluctantly agreed but reminded me it's a private club and that offensive language is still inappropriate and that it can't happen again.
After that I just shook her hand and went on with my day. I'll be looking around for another gym near me and pricing home gym equipment as well. No such thing as freedom of speech when jews are around. Goodnight goats, I'm going to bed now. Just wanted to let you know the outcome.
Tl;dr: The bagel lied and I was let off with a warning. I'll be cancelling my membership sooner than later.
Edit: Thank you for all the advice, you goys have some good points and ideas. I'll stay at this gym for a while longer. The kike doesn't want me at the gym, banned or otherwise. I'm not going to let him have the satisfaction. Every opportunity I get I'll make him feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I might even buy a few new shirts to workout in. Let the games begin.
