Make it so they can't get federal student aid or vote unless they register for the draft. The reaction to THAT should be amusing.

It's exactly what men have to fucking deal with. I had to register with Selective Service before I was allowed to do either of those things, so... Equality, bitches! Drink it down!

I can't wait to hear the feminists wail about how no one should register for the draft.

[–] thrus 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Why would most worry about it they can say yes they should register and know they will be old enough shortly to be exempt from the draft. It isn't like they are going to be calling late 30s anytime soon. they can all stand behind this and line up to register and be safe from it happening to them.

Does being fat disqualify somebody from being selected?

0

[–] wifblat 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Actually it does. Only something like 10% of high school graduates are fit for service, I read a report on it, but can't remember where. If we ever have a war that requires a draft, there will be fat camp before basic training.

Bwahahahhaha!

They're not gonna do that . Theyre gonna cry and bawl about all the various reasons that everybody but straight white men shouldn't have to register. Because, you know, reasons.

I'm the Furthest thing you could find from a feminist, and I gotta say, No one should have to register for the draft. At all. For any reason.

As a woman, I support this. We want to be treated equally. So that means with the good, comes the bad. Put up or shut up.

So don't make them front line soldiers, there are lots of rolls in getting supplies ready and transporting thing in the background of war. Look at history, women stepped up and made what was needed taking jobs in the factories to support war efforts why limit those roles only to support from the civilian side and not have women play the same types of roles on bases at home or flying the planes doing supply runs in controlled areas? fill the background roles to free others up for the front line roles. There are lots of things to do that don't include fighting, but do take organizing food and caring for the injured.

we ladies have the organizational skills it takes to run a household and raise multiple children correctly.

Some of you do. I'd end up drowning them just to get some fucking peace and quiet.

I don't even think women should have jobs if they have kids. Our sole duty is to care for our families. We raise those kids, we make the food, we rub tired backs, and we put everyone in our lives before ourselves.

Do you need some more nails?

Thank you, so many want the perks and then freak out that they might face downsides that come with them. equality of being the same, not just having the same benefits I strongly support.

I didn't know you could get off the list. I just hope I'm too old now. Three generations is enough from my family. Now I only have to worry about my nephews.

The draft is a horrible thing, I am honestly surprised it's still allowed.

It's not really allowed per se, but we have to sign up for it "just in case". I think that assumes we ever get into a real war where we're actually threatened again.

Which damns it even further in my eyes. I admire those who serve under the military, but I would hate to see the government of any country drag the sorry hides of a bunch of freshly graduated 18 year old men and throw them into a war zone, just because it was allowed.

i think 2 years compulsory military service in peacetime or war should be mandatory for all US citizens, so at the very minimum women should register for the draft.

Actually a lot of countries do have mandatory service

I was thinking the same way, however after serving I came to completely agree with the stance expressed by @thuvia. I think the root of all this feminist/sjw bullshit happening lately is in the fact that the young generation did had the chance to come to appreciate what the previous generation has worked hard to accomplish, a little rough life under military supervision would in my opinion refocus to a certain extent their world view...as long as the service is not in the Air Force of course, those guys got it way too easy with their astronomical budgets.

quoting George Carlin here

I don't like words that hide the truth. I don't words that conceal reality. I don't like euphemisms, or euphemistic language. And American English is loaded with euphemisms. Cause Americans have a lot of trouble dealing with reality. Americans have trouble facing the truth, so they invent the kind of a soft language to protest themselves from it, and it gets worse with every generation. For some reason, it just keeps getting worse. I'll give you an example of that. There's a condition in combat. Most people know about it. It's when a fighting person's nervous system has been stressed to it's absolute peak and maximum. Can't take anymore input. The nervous system has either (click) snapped or is about to snap. In the first world war, that condition was called shell shock. Simple, honest, direct language. Two syllables, shell shock. Almost sounds like the guns themselves. That was seventy years ago. Then a whole generation went by and the second world war came along and very same combat condition was called battle fatigue. Four syllables now. Takes a little longer to say. Doesn't seem to hurt as much. Fatigue is a nicer word than shock. Shell shock! Battle fatigue. Then we had the war in Korea, 1950. Madison avenue was riding high by that time, and the very same combat condition was called operational exhaustion. Hey, were up to eight syllables now! And the humanity has been squeezed completely out of the phrase. It's totally sterile now. Operational exhaustion. Sounds like something that might happen to your car. Then of course, came the war in Viet Nam, which has only been over for about sixteen or seventeen years, and thanks to the lies and deceits surrounding that war, I guess it's no surprise that the very same condition was called post-traumatic stress disorder. Still eight syllables, but we've added a hyphen! And the pain is completely buried under jargon. Post-traumatic stress disorder. I'll bet you if we'd of still been calling it shell shock, some of those Viet Nam veterans might have gotten the attention they needed at the time. I'll betcha. I'll betcha.>

Women can shoot rifles and are fully capable of guarding a base's perimeter. Women are also perfectly capable of working in disposing of IEDs.

Women can not patrol, they can not carry a pack for a full day of guard duty. They break down faster due to stress fractures caused by less dense bone structure. This isn't about will to do the job its about genetics.

The shooting rifles and guarding bases consist of patrolling and marching for hours on end with ~60 lbs of equipment. It is way more physically demanding than you are making it out to be.
