After taking a chemistry course in college I just have to say fuck Fahrenheit. Celsius/centigrade and Kelvin actually make a huge amount of sense when you look at their application. Fahrenheit feels very arbitrary and clunky.

Oh yes,you are absolutely right, but Ive always believed F to be better to gauging the weather outdoors, like the image implies. For any purpose other than simple weather conditions,C or K.

Perhaps, but that's literally the only thing that I can see it being better at, and only if you're not used to it. Once you're used to celsius it's just as good, and it's better at everything else.

If you're used to fahrenheit you might find it easier to gauge temperature outside, but the same applies to celsius

Speaking as someone who has always used Celsius, 0 is really cold and 40 is stupidly hot.

(I am an islander from the north so my ideal temperature is 0C - 20C. Anymore and I suffer Dave's syndrome, any less and I have to put on another jumper.

But we make do very well with going from -5 to 40, in my climes at least. Also, the point of using celsius is for the whole world to use the same system. It's just practical, if anything. Like using English as a global language.

Fahrenheit is arbitrary because it's based on a human temperature scale, not something objective or scientific. But 99% of the time people talk about temperature it's for weather or inside temperature. Fahrenheit also makes a huge amount of sense if you look at it's application. Also Fahrenheit is more accurate, so that is one thing it is objectively better at.

After having no such training whatsoever, fuck you for implying that my preferred assessment of climate is somehow inferior simply because it makes you think harder.

Hokay.
