Okay, I get what you are saying. Give https://voat.co/v/all/new a try. Keep an open mind skip the shit and read what intrigues you. Use your mind to pick what catches your interest. Then confirm the post by a simple web search. We live in a day when curated content is the norm, never rely on one source. Above all trust your instinct. deadit is bought and paid for, can we agree on this? If so who do you want serving up your dish?

I've thought a lot about that, I've even tried going back to the Reddit front page... But once I started looking at /r/undelete, uneddit.com and other sources like that, I'be found the Reddit front page to be equally nauseating, if not worse.
My solution is to unsubscribe from the problem subs, subscribe to some decent non-default ones, and just wade through the trash. At least the trash is obvious here on Voat.
And at the same time, I still go to Reddit for smaller, non-default subs where censorship and politics aren't a major issue.

You got to subscribe to more subs than the default. Post things that you would like to see and then it will be here

Makes sense. Being less lazy may help a lot, actually.
