While I hate fox news and Dash in general I have to agree with the point. You cannot want equality and voluntarily segregate yourself through these programs. Just like in the Navy. They have an engineer of the month and a black engineer of the month. I used to debate with a black LT all the time. Do you want to be the best black engineer or the best engineer? If the answer is engineer, you need to get rid of the black engineer award.

How did they determine who is "black"?

Good point. What if some of the actors which were nominated race identify with black?

She's absolutely right. If white people had a Whites only Magazine, and only white people were allowed to be featured in it, blacks would burn the world down screaming racism. But if white people point that out about BET, Ebony Mag, Award shows, now they're the racist ones. It makes no fucking sense and hasn't ever made sense.

Dare I say Black Privilege? The privilege to feel like everyone else owes you something. The privilege to be able to claim that your civil rights were violated whenever you are caught doing something, the right to claim that you are a victim whenever you are dealing with someone from a different race and things don't go the way that you want, and so on.

Black privilege is not having to take responsibility for your life, your actions, and above all your failings.

It feels more like a consolation prize for the very real oppression of unequal sentencing and profiling done by illegal practices like stop and frisk searches.

I just saw someone from 4Chan or whatever figure this out and post it, but they went back to 1995 and found that in the 20 years since then, 12.5% Oscars awarded to actors were given to black people. Blacks are 13% of the American population. So what's the problem here?

But.... But if you vocalize how ridiculous they are, that could only be because you hate people just for the color of their skin!

Can we accept that the Oscars is one opinion from one set of critics? Why is the Oscars the gold standard for what a good movie is other then any other awards show or film festival?

That would be a sensible answer
