I will argue that Martin Shkreli, although not a hero, has done a good thing.

There are long videos out there on youtube showing him do clinics on investing in medical companies. I don't know this guy personally and if he fit the archtype of wall street investors with lots of money, doing whatever they do it would not shock me. On one video he shows people resources to check on investing on medical companies, it looks like mostly drugs per one video. Something people working on a beginning level could learn from.

I am not arguing he did not take a douchebag step by figuring out that increasing a random pill from $5 to $750 and create profit was not wrong. But he is open with what he does to anyone listening, and was willing to talk to the media as well.

I have no doubt in my opinion, based on the number of people charged for the 2008 financial meltdown, he is being charged because he has people talking about his actions and he could cause issues for others in wall street. Have a look and decide for yourself.
