Build assets. Look into it. Something you don't have to work very much for that pays you isn't as hard to find as you think. Flip a section 8 house after getting a small loan. Work your ass off and rent it out. Your checks come in from the government, the house pays itself off the first year.
Then do it again. Your going to be working in straight slums and hoods, buy a quick little 9mm. Even with one rental property, you are better off than 99% of Americans who rely on a job for income, which is a liability.
The more money you make, the more opportunity you will come across. Don't be afraid to live like a straight fucking homeless person for the first couple years, but in the end, it's all worth it. Free yourself from the soul-grinding 9-5 everyone else suffers.
good advice, but i can't afford to die right now in some botched robbery. Plus I'm not cut throat enough to be a landlord for a slum house where I probably will hardly ever get the rent on time. My main goal is to get out of the system while trying to help people out along the way. I like you're idea of accumulating assets though, and am fairly handy. Is it profitable to buy forcelosed houses not in the hood?

Section 8 means the government handles the check. You just maintain or pay someone to maintain the property.
Nothing worth anything was ever without risk.
