You've been a member with this username for 3 months so you came around the same time as the coontowners. About a month before that the FPHers came over and several months before that the conspiracy guys took refuge here.

ShlomoShekelstein, let me address this faggot coward down below who is making false accusations about Manhood Academy:

It's easier and less stressful to avoid it altogether than it is to try to have a reasonable debate or discussion with these people, only to be called an SJW, cuck, faggot, or whatever else name makes them feel good.

It's always funny how faggot piece of shit cowards like you side with feminist SJWs and yet you're TOO COWARDLY to put your own views under PUBLIC SCRUTINY.

Any coward who has to CENSOR his critics should NEVER be trusted.

A piece of shit coward like you advocates censorship while Manhood Academy has consistently advocated for PUBLIC SCRUTINY by holding PUBLIC DEBATES THAT CAN'T BE CENSORED. You faggot cowards want to hide behind your mommy's keyboard because you know you can censor the outcome. You hypocritically lecture about "discussion" while CENSORING ALL POSSIBILITY OF DISCUSSION. You're a fucking disgusting piece of shit.

Fuck you piece of shit coward. We're happy to cause faggots like you extreme butthurt LOL! :) U MAD?

or are they expressed by a relatively number of users with inflated arguments and discussion-prone personalities that post away while others simply do not counter argument or lack to will to express their views?

As someone who has lurked for the past 4 months and witnessed all the drama first-hand, from the Amalek and MH101 spam, reddit banning of FPH and coontown to the /v/askvoat mess, /u/she attacks, /v/news drama, and relenting "protection" from /v/protectvoat, this is the reason for these opinions.

I've seen good users quit because of the hate an intolerance that did not exist on voat back in June and early July. These are users who contributed to small niche subs, donated money to the site, and welcomed new users (many of the same users that currently spew such hate). The people that make these radical arguments cannot be reasoned with; as the moment their opinion is challenged or questioned, the person challenging them has become an SJW or whatever else the hated label is at the moment. The reason the opinions seem even more prevalent now is that the people who disagree, have moved on, whether that's by deleting their account or simply blocking the subs/users that promote or allow the hateful and intolerant opinions. It's easier and less stressful to avoid it altogether than it is to try to have a reasonable debate or discussion with these people, only to be called an SJW, cuck, faggot, or whatever else name makes them feel good.

Was I complaining? I was simply contributing my opinion to OP's question. Sorry if I touched your feels in the wrong place.

That's a very one sided way of putting it. You clearly sympathize with the people that have been driven off the site, as shown by the fact that you stopped being a lurker to comment in this particular thread.

Not everyone being called a "SJW, cuck, faggot, or whatever else" is a little angel victim of those evil, straight, cis, white supremacists. If users are being called by those names, maybe, just maybe, there's some truth to it.

Also, if you and OP aren't happy with the current situation, perhaps you both should stop being lurkers and start contributing. You have free speech in this site, use it.

I'd much rather not contribute and continue to lurk than suggest someone should "blow their brains off" like you have.

Like i said, I lurk around a lot because it's impossible to engage in constructive discourse with people like you. And your comment history and reputation on this site has proven my point.

I agree, and plan to state my opinion from now even if it's a moderate voice in the midst of an extremist cry. (A bit poetic but oh well, ahah)

this comment was censored by feminists SJW mods from v/news. please also note these piece of shit cowards edited their v/news announcement to remove the mention of MH101 after many voaters called them out on their bullshit accusations:

/v/news is run by feminist SJW mods and we already brought this up a long time ago. They abuse the system by censoring users. They are no better than @she. This whole mod experiment is a fucking joke because they are censoring anyone who dares to disagree with them. Now when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar they attempt to blame MH101?? lol! Sad and pathetic or funny and tragic. You decide.

These piece of shit cowards are the exact opposite of MH101. MH101 has ALWAYS dared these piece of shit cowards to come out in the open and live debate their bullshit accusations. Unlike these piece of shit cowardly mods who try to fool voat by using bullshit CSS tactics to hide their new mod and other lame excuses, MH101 has consistently advocated transparency for all mod activity. You got caught redhanded and now you're trying to cover your ass because MH101 pointed out your scam a long time ago!

It was previously pointed out that on any given day voat's frontpage consists of 80% to 90% v/news posts. That means /v/news is MONOPOLIZING voat.

We already floated suggestions such as only allowing a maximum of 2 posts from ANY default subverse to prevent these feminist SJW fags from dominating and silencing voat. Then at least we can ignore them. But when they constantly take over the frontpage we're essentially ruled by them. When the frontpage is littered with solely v/news posts, voat is held hostage to the feminist SJW narrative. We ditched reddit because of the censorship and lack of mod transparency only to embrace it once again here on voat.

Time to pull an @she and remove /v/news and the piece of shit mods who run it. Also time to remove this feminist SJW LYING CUNT @AmyAcker

And last but not least: don't forget to submit ALL ITEMS to /v/whatever until this feminist SJW mod censorship gets resolved--DO NOT submit them to v/news. downvoat all v/news posts so they don't monopolize the frontpage. use /v/whatever for any news items. It's the only way to guarantee that these assholes don't get to censor voat in the future.

Once again, we are truly sorry for the lack of transparency. --AmyAcker

You're only sorry YOU GOT CAUGHT, YOU LYING CUNT!

IF we had a way to guild comments. I'd guild this one in a nano second.

This is what I've been saying for the past few months. It's rare that I see another person who agrees who didn't leave already. Nice to know I'm not alone here... yet.

Just because most of the moderates of voat are a bit quiet doesn't mean anyone is alone. The middle hasn't tend to make a lot of noise cause they want to keep their heads down or whatever after the influx of the FPHers and coontown residents. The edges of political opinion always seem to be the most vocal anyway. If you are reading a post and have something of value to add write it, either as a comment or a rebuttal, the worst thing that can happen are a few downvoats.

And its gild (with gold leaf etc).

the opinions you don't agree with probably just don't pass the herd mentality, group-think filtering mechanisms on deddit. We need to support free speech, especially that which we don't agree with.

[–] OlympicWalrus 2 points 5 points (+7|-2) ago

Excellent comment!!! Perfect example of what OP is talking about. Don't like voats own brand of groupthink? Then you're a dirty commie!

I mean, fuck... I'd be happy with a diversity of opinions, but that is not what we have here. If you post a contrary opinion on one of these circlejerks you get censored by down voats into oblivion.

I'm all for supporting free speech (for fucks sake that is why I am here), and I will upvoat any comment which adds to a discussion, but only 10% of voaters act this way. Far too many love their disagree button.

[–] Sharrac [S] 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Precisely, one of the amazing things about Voat is that the down button is to be used on things that are not relevant to the discussion rather than things one simply disagrees with. I personally thought this little rule was genius as soon as I joined the community and it saddens me that so many now use and abuse their downvoat(?) to simply cast away opinions that do not reflect their own personal views.

For all those hesitating to post an opinion just what is holding you back? You might get someone going on a tirade or challenging your viewpoint but why does that matter? You are safe in your bedroom or loungeroom and all it will give you is a bit of a faster pulse. Are you concerned about being doxxed and threatened in your personal space? Really unlikely. Or is it that you can't stand even a little bit of back and forth? If your argument is strong engage in logic and discuss the issue. If its someone personally abusing you then just shrug give the screen the finger, don't engage with them and go on with your day.

I've been given pics of haemorrhoid cream for my supposed butthurt (hi @mamwad) and it made me laugh and upvoat the bastard. You gotta have a thick skin.

Again, ways of expressing ideas such as yours do take my will to contribute. I simply stated my point and you insult me and raise points that are just not true. At least my question was answered previously and now I know that other moderate people still exist on this community and to them I urge you: contribute, state your point now mater what others say for there will be support as long as your speech contains only facts and not hate or simple minded frustration.

You have 2 submissions and 14 comments and have been here for 3 months...

Sorry, but I am starting to suspect these old accounts with no comments or posts complaining every day exactly in this sub all of them, about how Voat is too "right wing" and "extreme" and "hate" and etc.

And by chance, they always get a bunch of extreme comments that prove their point. Sorry if this is not true, but I am suspecting this is all staged, the original comment, and the hateful replies, to give the impression that Voat is a bastion of "hate speech, white supremacists and nut right wingers"

I may be wrong, but the pattern is there, so allow me to be suspicious.

Anyway, if you don't like what you see, my answer to you and to all the silent complainers is the same: start contributing with posts and comments, and be the change you want. Simple.

Me? I do my small part contributing many news in my own subverses from very different sources, even sources I don't personally like. I get hate comments, have been called a SJW, I just ignore and carry on.

Moderates are always going to be called names from both extremes, that is how real life works too, get used to it.

I wanted to take the time to repply to you since I do know you, thoughtpolice, are a frequent contributor to the website. I have been a lurker for a long time and I assure you I did not take the time to stage anything, I simply wonder how the community trully feels and thinks and I havr to admit I'm a bit surprised. I learned that there is a huge number of moderate voices that simply do not state their opinion on the fear of being downvoated on the midst of more extreme views (such as myself). I agree, though, that its up to those people to simply not fall into silence and have participate in discussions more frequently, something I will try to do from now on. Thank you for listening.

[–] m4tthew 1 points 2 points (+3|-1) ago  (edited ago)

Well you'll see a lot of extreme stuff reach the front page, but I don't think it's a majority opinion. I think the fact this post is up with (as of posting this) no downvotes is telling enough.

1
2

[–] Sippio 1 points 2 points (+3|-1) ago

I think it's all about the small size of the community. Some people are just extremely vocal, and will comment on every post, regardless of how well thought-out it is, so the comments don't necessarily go through the same level of scrutiny a larger discussion forum might have. This leads to a lot of bigoted, ignorant nonsense. I doubt most people here actually agree with some of these statements, but the loudest few get themselves out there.

That said, I like that there is a strict anti-censorship policy here. Even though there's some remarks I find truly despicable, censorship is a slippery-slope, and can become a powerful means of control over opinions and dissent.

So don't worry, you're not the only moderate here. Most of us just hold our tongue a little more.
