Those that threatens to leave are the same trolls that causes the drama.

The only thing people on Voat needs to do is report the abusers to the authorities. The last few weeks I have seen posts here that are definitely illegal in some countries. If one of those trolls live is such a country then they can get prosecuted even though the sever is in another country.

It will be so much better if the drama queens leave. I dont support banning them but they can go away if they so choose. We all know they wont really leave because in the end they love the drama they create here. Oh well...

Some of them we are definitely better off without. Mick has started calling Atko a pedo supporter; totally abandoned all logic and reason, that one has.

As for the others, I don't know, so I won't comment, other than to say: this is like children throwing their toys out of the pram because their mother took away their dummy (pacifier for you Americans).

Good riddance. I'm sure a lot of good users have left because they didn't want to see this drama.

That is their mo. I can barely remember a time on this site recently, without sjws creating drama.

Drama queens == power users

The only people involved in these shitstorms are people who post comments on practically every thread that makes the front 10 pages every day. Then when people recognize them from their thousand-or-so comments they feel like they "matter" to the Voat "community". They need to take a fucking break and let their unwarranted sense of self-importance deflate a bit.

I must admit, even I am finding it hard to justify the actions of queens this time around.

I just hope they're actually going to leave.

They want attention. Plain and simple. Their threats of leaving the site are empty, and even if they follow through no one will care. They will never leave especially after the shit storm they created today.

They cry SJW and then do the same thing they claim to hate. All this copy pasta is fucking annoying.

I honestly don't understand any of this drama. I thought Voat was created as a freedom of speech alternative where censorship was limited to hateful/threatening comments. When moderators create vague rules that can be easily interpreted I can see where disagreements can happen, but everyone has the right to their opinion unless provided facts to disprove said opinion. If people can't accept realities then that's their personal problem. We're all human beings on this website and should treat each other with respect, not name calling. Just my two cents on the matter.

Most people on Voat agree with you.

But the sensible people and the loud people are two very different groups.
I am hoping that this squeaky wheel falls off and gets left behind, let's not grease it.

From what I remember it started out as some small disagreement about moderation and obviously it's grown into something way bigger and more serious. It's now a personal problem between like a dozen users and it's flared up a couple times in the last two months. Regular users see the drama and don't want any part of it, but these people have to force it down everyone's throats by spamming and posting it to /v/whatever. There's no going back to being civil for anyone involved.

I don't actually know what drama or actions have gone on. I'll just say that being "limited to hateful/threatening comments" is more than enough leeway to get away with murder and/or create an echo chamber. Also of note, that doesn't explain why things like the fappening got banned. The legal situation and jurisdictions involved are murky, and those myriad problems have never been tackled in an attempt to clarify or mitigate them.

I don't think that we have tried to separate moderation practices from garbage (beyond petty) internet politics. We are moving forward with a failed model, and there probably has to be a novel structure that voat creates if there is any hope of rising out of the muck.

Anyone who publicly says "it's me or him!" should instantly be banned.
