The sbbh mods are pretty reasonable if you have a concern with their antics.

Well, at least @Mick is reasonable, I can't vouch for the others.

That's not true. There are sjw subs and mods on this board who will sensor you to protect feelings.

Outclass? Take a look at an unfiltered all front page. Voat is becoming the fox news of the internet

I bet you've never even seen Fox News outside of clips of it on The Daily Show and maybe a couple of minutes while your parents were watching it.

Fox News is the top news channel!

It's true, we have a refreshingly different demographic to reddit.

Anti voat and pro sjw rhetoric is increasing as the ones visiting this place slowly realize that it might turn right wing...and popular.

[–] voatforgoat 7 points 47 points (+54|-7) ago

I wouldn't say right wing, just more open. There isn't a hivemind like on reddit, and people can post their own opinions without being downvoated into oblivion for an unpopular opinion. They're not leftist over at reddit, they're just dicks.

[–] pr0nw4r 12 points 21 points (+33|-12) ago

The right wing has been suppressed for so long that one naturally leans towards this now in order to get open opinions. How many years have we been now where scientific, popular studies, culture around races has been suppressed?

It will all just spill out into the open and the leftists who rely on censorship for their speech will feel marginalized once they realize that their speech isnt actually the truth.

I could not disagree more. If you think Voat isn't showing a right slant to Reddits left, and that there is no group think going on here, either you're in denial or you don't understand human psychology. Any group of people coming together will form into a hivemind. The larger the group the more obvious the hive so maybe given the size of Voat it's just not obvious to you yet.

I agree with you. Reddit used to be good because two different opinions could argue until both sides realized the other isnt going to change their mind,so both sides go back to their subs to recharge in their echobox. Now reddit bans people who use voat, just for giving it a shot, like me.

TIL if you're part of the hivemind you can't see it.

To me it's like that 4chan's /v/ quote. To paraphrase: "when right-wingers said videogames damaged your brain, we leaned left; when left-wingers said videogames were sexist, we leaned right".

I'd say a healthy middle is the best choice, but to some it still feels more right than left because the usual internet user with no political leanings are more desensitized to the left than to the right, so the left looks more normal than the right.

[–] pr0nw4r 12 points 6 points (+18|-12) ago

Thats the middle ground fallacy. The truth is that some truths are right, some truths are left. The social safety net was working fine before the crisis in europe, medical care is also top notch. Thats a left truth. But the fact that niggers are overly represented in crime, thats a right truth. The fact that gun ownership and self defense with guns works, that is also a right truth. There is no reason to look at the pendulum that way. Only at data. One can easily integrate racial realism, bring back proper discrimination and have a healthy socialistic society for the whites where they will be happy without being reminded by mr shlomostein that they are evil.

To be more accurate, it just looks like /v/ is leaning left and right because you're viewing the political omniverse as one dimensional. The reality is more diverse.

I wouldn't even describe it as "right wing" so much as "a bunch of things which happen to be something other than left wing." There are a few literal monarchist reactionaries around, but they're hardly the majority.

I never completely left Reddit.

While Voat is my favourite for quality discussions and interesting news, it simply doesn't have the numbers to sustain niche communities, Reddit does, so I use both for different purposes.

Well it can't be entirely "useless" when it's one of the "top 10" most "popular" websites in "the" united states

[–] DaBeetus 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

popularity doesn't mean it should be used to fill newspaper columns.

i'm not from the united states, and the local paper where my parents live was quoting some random reddit thread about zombie survival in the local area, as though it was something the residents (majority middle aged) actually gave two shits about.

Just don't get SRS or SRD banned. If anything, ask the mods to make those subs a default.

[–] cointelpro_shill 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Hah. Don't think I could get SRS banned if I tried... aside from being a favorite sub of the admins, their posting format would make it hard. Intra-reddit posts are hard to get banned for. But for TiA, it'd be just like FPH. Just keep submitting identifiable screenshots until the admins receive enough reports from victims to constitute a "pattern of abuse"

I'd love to make a quip about how 'reddit's loss is voat's gain' but even after subscribing to nearly 200 subverses my front page still feels really slow. I'm constantly looking for new things to subscribe to, but everything I haven't already joined (and many that I have) just feel abandoned.

I totally buy that reddit is losing users. I won't dispute that at all. It sorta boggles my mind that, after all that we've learned about how the place is run, anybody would waste their time there... but where the fuck did everyone go? If that quantcast graph is to be believed there's one to two million redditors missing.

Some days I come on here and it feels way slower than it did over the summer. I don't know. I'm here to stay, and I have zero interest in using reddit, but I just wish people came here for more than arguing politics and mod privileges...

It's a site that is still early in development, and I guess that's why there's a huge amount of meta-voat posts.

I'm in the same boat. I've been wondering if it's possible to create a bot who can automatically take posts from reddit and post them on voat, you know, so I don't have to keep going back there for the content.

On a side note, why can't I report this guy weeekitty for spamming?
