Yeah, I have all I need to downgrade to 7, it'll just take several hours to install the OS then reinstall and reconfigure everything. I was hoping there was a way to control the updates somehow. I wouldn't care about automatic updates if they didn't crash my computer every time.

Another alternative is to do a clean Windows 10 install from ISO->DVD

One of the potential suspects behind the crashing for me is driver updates, since that's really the only thing I can think of. Doing a clean install of Windows 10 wouldn't work in that case. I'm going to try to manually install drivers from the manufacturer websites when I have time and see if that will solve the problem.

I really like Windows 10 for the most part, but I'm disappointed to say that this automatic update + crashes when updates thing can likely become the deal-breaker for me to downgrade. I really, really, don't want to stick with 7 like those XP users did.
