... And here I seem to be one of 'the cattle' if I believe half of the things that are written in subs like v/technology.
Anyone else feels like the mood here is waaaay too paranoid and anti corporate? I always advocated open an transparent rules and regulations. With things going more towards cloud based products that is a necessary evil. I say this sentiment in other privacy and security minded people: Microsoft and Google are not evil persé, but should be clear about what they do with data. Now, here on Voat everyone seems to dig in against all of this, and advocate exclusively stand alone, open source solutions as the only way to guard privacy.
Furthermore, rather than being a nice place to discuss issues, Voat is proving time and time again that it likes drama way too much. Am I the only one who is disappointed in what this place has become? (and rather quickly too) I don't even care anymore that Reddit looked like a trainwreck a month ago, because for all the meme's and cat gifs, is is at least no conspiracy central.
Or, you know, maybe I am actually part of the herd.

It's simple. Most people on Reddit just post pictures of cats, and apparently everybody loves them, so the majority of people don't really experience the censorship and banning of Reddit.
I think Reddit will never digg-ify (become practically dead). It does what it's become to do, very very well - brighten up people's shitty lives with pictures of cute shit. Voat doesn't do this well, and maybe never will, so we can just hope more OC content comes really.
