Affirmative action in colleges is a huge part of seeding discontent for black people.
Get into college course that they are not adequately qualified for and incapable of performing at required level
Start underperforming at the course, discover they are surrounded by people that are different to them due to the intelligence /capability gap. (This may happen consciously or subconsciously)
Proclaim that their underperformance is due to prejudice and discrimination, and that they're being oppressed, as simply no being smart enough is not something they are able to acknowledge. By this point they're also clutching at straws to find something that they can speak with perceived authority and intelligence on since they clearly cant within the context of their studies, so their skin color and perceived racial injustices become an outlet for this need.
There are large numbers of affluent, college educated black and Latinos nowadays, I do not understand why there is any distinction made based on skin color as to college acceptance. I could see an argument based on income to have favorable rankings in an attempt to raise people who have persevered from lower economic status, but race alone is counter intuitive and leads to black students biting the hand that feeds them
When I was in college, I saw blacks and women fail tests and get straight 'A's, pushed through. At work White Men are doing most of the work. There's a women that literally talks about movies all day, never seen her actually work.
I have in-laws who work in academia. If you ask them, they say that it’s necessary to make up for the disadvantages that black students have during their grade school years. Which is exactly backwards. You don’t fix somebody’s inability to read at a fifth grade level or perform basic math functions by giving them a free pass into college. You need to fix that in elementary school. Because indeed, all you’re doing by putting them in academic programs where they can’t keep up is setting them up for failure.
I’ve watched their heads explode, explaining this to them. They don’t talk politics with me, lol. But my point is, there are a lot of well intentioned people in academia who are somehow incapable of looking past their intentions at the actual effects.
Sure, there are cynical assholes out there who know exactly what they’re doing. But your average college professor truly believes this is how they can “help.”

The cognitive dissonance is amazing with them. I have experienced similar with people arguing for the benefits of a universal Healthcare system. I have lived most of my life in a country with free healthcare, and I have had (similar) major injuries in my birth country and in the USA. The quality of the medical care here was FAR superior. In my original country, they brought in an intern to STITCH MY FACE UP leaving me with some permanent disfigurement because she obviously fucked up the job. Meanwhile I broke my jaw and severe facial lacerations n America, and within 20 minutes I was being seen by a specialist maxiofacial surgeon committed to making my injuries invisible. Sure it cost some more, but that's what insurance covers, and does so moe effectively than paying into a nanny state that I may never need to utilize.
The dirty secret is those who can afford it will use specialist Pirate Medical options in the UK anyway because the quality is so superior
