If they were looking at IQ’s as a percentage of the population where they placed. A large SD would make sense. Another words most of these students were in the upper 40% with a wide variance. I don’t see where it even divulged the actual base IQ. Debatably about 70?

my best 2 guesses are that IQ is a division. mental ability divided by mental age, so a percentage would make sense. or we could be misinterpreting the result, because 58 seems really fucking low
