it is when someone sneezes and you walk through the cloud of mist. There's a low chance of that happening, but a high chance of that happening after several months of people not wearing masks at large gatherings - the grocery store. that's why I wear an n95. mostly because I smoked for 15 years and don't want to risk a douche w/o a mask sneezing on me. I don't care about protecting others - I wear it for myself.

most of the problems from not wearing a Surgical mask come from you leaving pieces of your inner liquids on things people touch, and them touching their face afterwards.

What I find funny is people who read something that says "wet", and go - "here you go, proof it's dry." you have the iq of a nigger.

An individual virus does not come out of your mouth. it comes out in large droplets with thousands of viruses and some phlegm. Ever cough into your hand? That's what the mask is catching.

A Cloth mask catches that, so others don't walk through your cloud of coughed-up mouth-spritzer. An 95 protects you. The pore size is irrelevant - it actually filters an individual virus too. It's statically charged (as in rub a balloon on a cat - it sticks to the cat). The virus gets stuck to the mask via electromagnetism, not by getting filtered by the pores.

Save my money you say? You can use the same N95 forever. I have 3 and rotate them. After 3 days the virus is dead - no need to disinfect the mask. I had them left over from fixing a hole in my drywall. A pack of 5 was $5 at home depot. You're a moron.
