Resisting the government and fighting the government are two very different things. One gets the local PD out to harass you, the other leads to federal agents and swat teams.

One only requires a few good men for a protest, the other requires a small army with both civilian and military support.

Neither is without consequences.

Always avoid the fights that get you killed. Being a martyr isn't winning, and you won't feel like a fantasy action hero while you're bleeding out on the pavement or in prison facing the death penalty for armed resistance.

You win by 1. avoiding battles that lead to absolute defeat, 2. fighting the battles you can win, 3. lasting longer than your opponent.

Hes fighting on the legal and political front. If he didn't believe it could work, he wouldn't be doing it. Good for him. Hes gonna win millions from this and become a permanent thorn in their side.

Absolute defeat for one may be the beginning of the battle for others

Thats a beautiful sentiment, and theres enough people out there that I don't doubt it is true. What it is also is relying on hope, which by itself, does not lead to victory.

You can't have hope if you're dead.

More importantly dying or going to prison for a cause paints a noble picture, and hollywood sells that in so many movies as what ultimately leads to victory or motivates 'the masses to rise up' or some shit. The reality is no one worth their salt volunteers for anything, peaceful or otherwise, if they think the outcomes gonna be grim, if they think they seriously can't win (which is the point of demoralization). It's a pointless wasteful action.

The hard thing is not resisting or fighting. The hard thing is winning at a cost that isn't too high, without too many losses. Thats why people go the peaceful resistance path.

I see you’ve read Art of War.

Many times. And now it comes down to teaching others, just like the communists do. Teach ten others, and those ten each teach ten, and so on, and soon everyone knows a little bit of something.

What else do you recommend reading?
