I don't know how I ended up so late to this party. I always thought she was found exceedingly guilty. How did that get planted in my head? Mandela effect on steroids right now.
Her defense argued that she was molested by her father and that's why she lied to every single detective that spoke to her. It worked, she got off for everything except lying. For which she got time served.
She's been estranged from her family since the case and works in Florida for the private detective her defense team hired. I'm pretty much blown away. That seemed like a pretty open and shut case since nobody else could have committed the crime.
But because it took 5 months to find the body, and no autopsy was possible, and the jury was able to be convinced to ignore a head wrapped in duct tape. I guess, astoundingly, there was reasonable doubt.

it was clear that her daughter was murdered but there was no proof that Casey Anthony did it. she walked because she should have.

want to know how I know this statement is false?

Exactly. She admitted she'd lied to the cops - but cops always lie, too!! Cops get a pass. Outside that, they couldn't stick any mud on her.
