So they're laying the groundwork for the "my account was hacked" defense when they get charged with possession of CP.

What does posession of CP have to do with a Twitter account? That makes no sense. Hacking a twitter account has nothing to do with their mobile device or local computer.

Let's just say Voat has suffered from a substantial brain drain ever since the Qtards were allowed to take over.

If one of their accounts was "hacked" they could use it to mean that "other" accounts of theirs were hacked, so therefore they aren't guilty.

Or... or... or... these are fake screenshots being passed around on social media to get idiots to send untraceable, sanderian (non-refundable) donations to the address listed.

That is an interesting question indeed. Low damage scenario the hackers managed to spoof the accounts and post on their behalf even without the email/password combo. High damage scenario the hackers now have email addresses/passwords of some very high profile people. Factor in that people are lazy and have a tendency to reuse passwords it doesn't take a lot of imagination to see where this could be going.

The spoofing seems more likely. Probably related to some sort of other social network's privileged access to post on behalf of the user.

I bet it is related to being verified as a "user" and some how changing which "user" owns the post id.

They don't. They just photoshop it, and post the picture with a random account on some popular post made by the account in the picture. John McAfee has had them all over his Twitter account for a while now. I'm pretty sure I've seen a few on Elon's posts as well.

EDIT: Well fuck me, I'm wrong. They've actually upgraded to breaking into their accounts now. And all at the same time too, to prevent people from wising up in time.

It blows my mind that there's people smart enough to have crypto that are dumb enough to fall for scams involving it.

It blows my mind that there's people smart enough to hack blue checked accounts and still misspell grateful.

I made a post a couple weeks ago about this.

Except they hijacked the official SpaceX channel on youtube and streamed a live feed from some other space x planning committee thing and had the giant "ELON MUSK 2X BITCOIN GIVEAWAY" thing plastered all over the screen.

It was #1 trending on youtube when I saw it - top row front and center.

Tricksters.

People have the means to access bitcoin but can't tell a scam from a legit thing? Someone explain to me how that works.

At the end of the last spike a lot of people who knew nothing about crypto hopped on the wagon for purely speculation purposes.

They were by definition the dumbest people to be able to buy crypto because they bought high. We shouldn't expect smart things from them in the future.

Probably a scheme to launder some money. That billion dollar BTC transaction recently stood out too much so they have to change it up and make it look like a "hacker" instead of a government or alphabet agency moving black money around. Also provides good cover for the blue checks involved as they are "victims" instead of accomplices.

It barely accumulated 100k, seems likes too much exposure for such hassle.

This tells me that somebody has a backdoor into Twitter, and won't use it to expose pedophiles rampant in DC or whatever the hell the sick shit is going on, but will use it for some money... I can almost see their hands rubbing together thinking to themselves "All those beautiful bitshekels"

I believe that is the definition of a "pyramid scheme" could they have tried to be a bit more subtle with their hustle?
