I don't think it's a "they're used to it" issue. That is to say, I don't think it's cultural. I don't think they've learned this.

I think the issue is in the brain. A future paycheck is an abstract concept. The thing you want to steal, on the other hand, is right there. You can see it (or at the very least, you know it's there).

Have you seen videos of children being tested by offering them a marshmallow now, or two marshmallows a few minutes from now? It's the same idea as this. You can see the current reward, but you have to imagine the future reward.

This article goes into this subject in some detail. The primitive African brain physically can not process abstract thinking. It is very difficult for Whites to imagine not having that ability so they just assume African failure is due to some external factor.
