That appears to be post modern or contemporary and the actual article title says contemporary. Modernist would mean something very specific in art and architecture. Indeed, they mention this distinction and then proceed to throw all design movements from the 20th century under the bus as "essentially the same thing" which I think is a bit unfair. That said, I agree that certain elements in the art and design community have become so desperate to do something original, new or avant garde that they've essentially started practicing witch craft by turning aesthetics on its head. Everything ugly is beautiful is cousin to everything good is bad. That was a great article on how to fix the artistry aspect of architecture but I think the issue is deeper than buildings. We need to change the spirit of our people. Return back to our roots before we decay and collapse without them.
