So, some silver lining: this seems to be a picture of NASA pulling in every woman from every department into the control room for a photo op. The first is a picture of the control room mid-mission.

I don’t think the mission control room looks so different from the older photo when there is a mission ongoing today.

"Raw Video: Mission control reacts as Curiosity lands on Mars" 7 years ago, not very female.

I was thinking that, too- this appears to be a virtue signalling photo-op.

"See, we aren't sexist- look at all of the wahmens!" sort of thing.

Clown World is where we have a bunch of property at work we have to babysit while still trying to get something worthwhile done. Hopefully when younger property see them all hang themselves from childless depression in their mid-40's, they'll think twice about it.

Probably true. I remember when they had the Mars lander touchdown, and Google's main page showed this massively diverse group of cartoon people cheering, then I saw an actual video of the people in charge in mission control celebrate after it landed and it was all white guys jumping up and down and cheering.

They're on a mission to spend all that money before the end of the fiscal year. Hence the female mission control.
