I was reading some articles online, and I remembered hearing years ago about a prison warden (possibly some other official) who decided to paint prison cells pink to reduce aggression

The same year that study came out, the University of Iowa painted the football visitors' locker room pink for this very reason.

Hilarious.

Somewhat tangential, I heard of a young man who chewed pink bubble gum before a football game because it triggered his ADD.

It doesn't surprise me.

There has been research into the subject of emotional stimulation by colors (for marketing purposes -- color me surprised!)

It's mostly what you would expect: red for aggression, blue for calming, yellow for agitation, and even orange for hunger.

I recall reading that the effect can reverse after a time, too.

This was 20 years ago, though, so who knows if it's been confirmed or debunked since.
