Oh fuck off loser. Of course a plan might not come to fruition. You could live the best life in history and a falling airliner could land on your house.
The point is that GENERALLY speaking having a big family is pretty good insurance against being alone. Arabs, Indians, Pakis... those people don't die alone in hospital wards. Crazy cat ladies do.
As for being smug, you shouldn't be. You have failed in your basic duties as a living organism. You haven't shown that you have the maturity and fortitude to raise offspring. Raising a child well takes skill, patience, and a host of other qualities that basement dwelling nerds will never develop through fapping to anime.
I don't regret kids, but I'm well aware of the cost involved in terms of time and stress.
You seem like one of those Jordan Peterson fans who believe all life is suffering, that all families are dysfunctional. You exude the stench of the Jewish worldview.

You come across as very defensive, bro. There's a bit of a contribution to objective inquiry there viz " I'm well aware of the cost involved in terms of time and stress" but overall I'm left with the suspicion you're resentful about having reproduced. I used to live next to a couple who seemed the model of happiness. They had a kid and for the first time I heard arguments and screaming matches and hubby storming out in a rage. There's nothing like a kid to test a relationship to the limits. I simply wouldn't advise it. Can I say bro, being honest, I think kids can be cute and I especially like them after they've had a bath (filthy little wretches that they are) but ... it's a relief to leave them with their parents. I have really appreciated the time I've had in my life to watch a tv show uninterrupted by a kid, read the newspaper etc but most of all it's been the flexibility one has. To be able to say to one's partner on the spur of the moment: "let's take off and have a few days in the City/by the sea". The other thing, bro, about parents is they can never spoil themselves. The kids' needs always come first. The parents think this makes them unselfish and us breeders selfish but they are wrong. All it makes the parents is resentful and jealous and unsettled, unpleasant human beings. Agree?
