"sophistry" means a fallacious argument.
I'm basing my position on observations over a lifetime. I am yet to meet a parent who didn't have at least some regrets about having kids.

As a parent, I do have regrets about having kids. I regret that I didn't start sooner and have more.

fair enough, if that's what you sincerely think. As a sterile person I do have regrets about being sterilised - that I didn't do it earlier. Oh the thought of all that worry-free sex I could have enjoyed.

“Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention.”

Mine can be pains, but so far, I'm totally free of regret. I'll probably miss the hustle when they're all out of the house.

what the fuck kind of 'stupid metric' is 'have at least some regrets'?
How do you define regrets? Saying " I wish I didn't have kids at the time so I could have taken that two month exchange term in Japan?"
People can regret almost any decision by that standard. I regret getting a STEM PhD. Was it bad a decision? No. Was it suboptimal? Yes.
That's meaningless shit. Most career decisions and investments are therefore not good ideas because of hindsight bias.
You have the fucking IQ of an Indian street pooper, combined with the worldview of a Jew. Great combination.

Yes you have a point but my experience is that for some parents having kids was a "mixed bag" whereas for others they couldn't bear to acknowledge it had been a hideous mistake so they flustered. Didn't come across many who I thought genuinely were pleased to breed.
