There are no good carbs. That's agribusiness marketing. Carbohydrates are instantly converted to glucose and spike your insulin, which in turn creates triglycerides, fat deposition, and excess cholesterol. Not to mention that a couple hours after eating your body's supply of glucose dries up and triggers hunger. It's an insulin-glucose roller coaster that is really bad for you. The point of all low carb diets is to avoid triggering your body's insulin production. Instead of burning glucose for energy, your body has to switch to burning ketone bodies. One of the nice things about that is it reduces the amount of insulin your brain is soaking in, which allows for better metabolic control (less eating), and less aging by reduced activation of IGF-1.
