All of a sudden in the late 00's everyone signed up and started giving and receiving info.
Why did people take the centralized bait? How did we not see the writing on the wall as a collective?
People allowed their kids to sign onto this? How?
Please, someone describe the climate at the time that allowed this major blunder to happen across the entire country.

Smart phones barely existed when it was college students only, so it was more of a secret club for students. Think about it. No email in your pocket. Facebook didn’t exist when you were away from your computer. It was the first real way of us organizing in groups in real time since the party line. Suddenly we could coordinate a dozen people to meet up. This was huge. MSM was completely clueless for years.
