I don't see it as any different from any other activity which currently falls under the category of tax evasion or mitigation.

Im not denying that happens. Like I said, the business of art is jewed as fuck. That is not what Im talking about.

I know its going to be an unpopular opinion around here. But to an Artist the entire thing is hilarious. From a purely Art POV There isnt any good reason a piece of fruit cant be media or the entire piece.

You as the viewer must decide if its a good piece of Art, the same as youve always had to do.

To be honest, you don't speak for all artists, right?

For me personally, reality isn't art. Art is how an individual effects reality. For me, a piece of fruit is a piece of fruit. Duct taping it to a wall doesn't make it art. You didn't effect anything. You didn't change anything.

And it's not just the business of art that is Jewed. Are you familiar with how the CIA has influenced the art world?

The problem is that yes the viewer decides if it's a good piece of art. However just because someone thinks it's art doesn't make it art. I mean at that point the word Art loses it's meaning. If anyone can call anything Art, then Art ceases to be Art. There shouldn't even be a word for it, because it can be literally anything.

But yeah, scultping something. Drawing something. Painting something. Singing or playing an instrument. You're creating something. You're taking your unique perspective as an individual and using it to breath life into something, a blank canvas, a record, whatever it is. Taping a Banana to a wall? That's not art. It just isn't. There's a line that has to be drawn, otherwise I genuinely believe that calling a Banana taped to a wall art takes away from actual artwork. It's like anti-artwork.
