Mmhmm. Hell, cringe and gay as it may sound, I learned from ARMA just how much better in a "real" scenario single-fire is.
I mean... You try spraying 31 rounds in well under 10 seconds at an enemy with a rifle at 300m and see how many times you hit the target.
Not once, I'd imagine. Not with any semblance of accuracy.
FOR THOSE UNAWARE:
The world isn't Call of Duty.
Gunfights at range are chaotic and fucking boring at the same time. Source: 75th Rangers friend
Gunfights started by even two guys at range can be an hour long ordeal. Source: 75th Rangers friend
Expect to be shot. Don't expect to feel it. Source: 82nd Airborne friend.
If you feel you've been shot, you weren't paying enough attention to the fight, or you're missing 30% of your body. Seek assistance in either case. Try not to die. Source: 82nd Airborne friend.
When a target is hit, don't expect to see blood. Be glad if you do. That means you can shoot again and hit him again. Source: Marine Corps friend deployed back in the initial invasion of Fallujah. (Is anyone surprised the Marine suggests shooting again?)
A few helpful hints from a few good men of the Israeli Foreign Legion!
