This is what concerns me and I've been trying to get answers (here and elsewhere) about how to avoid this. I'll pass a background check, I'm not concerned about that, but this seems to me like an obvious way of compiling a list of gun owners.
So I hear that you can buy from a private seller, such as at a gun show. What are they going to ask me for, as far as ID? Does it have to be in-state ID? I live in a state with very tyrannical gun laws, as I understand it even if I were to go to a state with favorable laws, when they see my drivers license they'll technically have to subject me to my state's laws (register, transfer to a licensed shop, etc etc). Is that right? Is there any way around this?
