I had a nightmare I got rabies and the end of the world meant no more food. I kept my brother alive while I cut off his limbs to eat. Week by week we subsisted on him until finally it was time to die.

A merciful god would allow us to live without sin, instead his grace is to forgive us when we do what we must to survive and insist we do it better.

No. Read this https://mundabor.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/hell.pdf

It will explain why God permits evil and no he isn't talking about talmudic jews in the first q/a. He's talking about the real jews of the old testament.

Mortal sin is (1) committed in a serious manner (2) with knowledge that what we do is wrong (3) with full deliberation and consent of the will.

In other words: Voluntary fully informed parasitic and predatory behavior.

If, for example, an insane man kills another, he would not go to hell for it.

By this, the Church ought to foster insanity. It is the surest guarantee to avoid hell. If we know not right from wrong, we cannot be punished. That explains Catholicism so clearly. Thank you!
