Gives you position of the baby.
If it's breech you have to have a c-section or risk losing baby and mother.
The baby should be head down by end of 7 months, meaning they did a flip. If they didn't flip you can hopefully flip them through certain exercises.
Also they check development, if the lips are coming together, or if there are growth abnormalities.
But the biggest one is the positioning of the baby.
