For background I found out about vaping about 8 years ago and got into selling them to the people I sold weed to as a new alternative to cigarettes. I got so far as to making the juice and mixing it up in my kitchen diluting lethal concentrations of liquid nicotine. Seriously, it will absorb through your skin and kill you.
About a year later it caught on wildly and vape shops were popping up everywhere, I was seriously considering opening up a shop when I seen them opening everywhere I lost interest because my interest in it was offering something unique, and shops were now everywhere, so I turned it aside.
Now, from the very start of the vaping scene the argument against it was their are no real clinical trials or studies to determine long term effects. This was immediately combated by the fact that you are literally inhaling water vapor and it couldn't possibly be as harmful to your lungs as the carcinogen filled smoke of cigarettes.
Although I myself decided to stop using and promoting ecigs, I've kept my eye on the scene and taken notice to the advancements of where they are going with this. For 8 years ive kept my ears to the ground because it was a passion of mine at one point, I thought I was going to help change the world, and suddenly it's everywhere.
The whole point i'm rambling on to get to is, I've been watching this evolution for almost a decade, and for almost a decade nobody was dropping dead from vaping until a month ago. Man, have you seen the instagram videos of people engulfing themselves in literal clouds of smoke? For 8 straight years! And now they're suddenly dropping dead? All in a month span? There's something fishy going on here and everyone is just playing right along like sheep.

big tobacco soaked up a couple companies. they're not HEAVILY invested in vaping. they are really not front-runners in vaping products.
the real threat to them is open systems. if i can make my own vape juice at home safely, the i don't need their products, ever. if they can outlaw open systems, which let users pick their flavor and strength at will, then they can control the market.
all the hullaballoo currently is about BLACK MARKET thc cartridges that some dummies are putting stuff that shouldn't ever be vaped in a vape cart.
my state was one of the pioneers when vaping came along. our state was FLOODED with vaping shops within a matter of months. there were some dipshits doing some unscrupulous shit, but they didn't last long. Everyone i know in the vaping business is in it to help people, first and foremost.
i believe it's a 'vaping is bad' along with 'weed is bad' ploy, wherever it's 'needed' for the narrative. tobaccos is buying into the weed game too lately.

35% owner in the most consumed vaping brand/ product is highly invested imo.
