His philanthropy is admirable and all, but if he's going into debt and having to lay off workers to pay for it he should probably re-evaluate his priorities a bit.
You're not wrong, but if a second or third guy decides to do something similar do you think they'll be able to count on the media to come along to help them out?
The world would be a better place with more people like this guy in it, but it would be preferable if they were able to sustain it, instead of potentially bankrupting themselves and destroying their business in the process.

I disagree. His act of kindness has attracted the attention of the world, and now everyone will send him money.
