I did an experiment posting a meme of a black guy saying the left were calling Trump Hitler and now that they want to confiscate guns they are behaving like Hitler. I posted it knowing the frame of a neonazi would not like it because they think he didn't confiscate them (but he only let true believers have them so he did). About 24% downvoted and it got to the front page. So I think around 24% of voat are actually ideologically white supremecists.

I think the constant racism is just because they think that is what is causing the problems in the world but it won't trend in the modern age because it's not true.

Absent free speech, it's possible to create confirmation bias and make people believe things (Twitter, Reddit and Facebook are great examples). With free speech, it's almost inevitable for people to reject leftism because the ideas don't hold up to scrutiny. What's fuckedup is since neither left or right are actually fully correct, the outliers can take on weird or scary belief systems as they work towards some kind of intellectual congruency. Education works in stages basically. Some levels look bad when all it needs is more education for that perspective to no longer be gloomy.

I'm only here because reddit said my account was hacked from r the donald and it was obvious they were singling out influential posters and trying to get them from reactivating their account if they signed up with throwaway email addessses which most people do. They also shadow banned certain topics and then 6 months or so after I left they put them in "quarantine" after some posters were making threats-- which is odd because you don't quarantine a city based upon the actions of a few people. That's how I think of platforms... digital cities. Voat is a very racist city, but it allows speech that would be shadow banned outright by other platforms.

Is racism being spouted to keep others away? I don't think so. People on voat are very honest about what they think and want from what I've seen.
