I will have to disagree. My advice is how I learned about gun safety.
Also scaring a child age 4 by shooting a loud gun does NOT create a liberal. Shooting a gun to scare them is no different than yelling at them when they touch a hot stove, does that make them a liberal? No.
It’s a silly argument. When they are young it’s important to instil fear on things they don’t understand like guns and plug ins.
Then when they are a few years older you sit down and explain why you did what you did and show them how to shoot.

I feel this is very bad advice.
Making your kids scared of guns is going to create anti-gunners.
I was raised familiar with them, and told we could see them if my dad is around but not allowed to touch them on our own.
We were shown they kill, but going shooting was fun.
Don't raise wussy liberal children.

That’s literally what my advice is.

His showing us they kill was to learn the seriousness, not become scared. We were never scared of guns, we respected guns.
It's the difference between being scolded for for pulling a dog's tail and being made to fear all dogs.
I feel learning respect for what your parents say is a better tactic than relying on fear.
I've been at this father thing for over a month!
