I don't remember it very well. I learned about it in an econ class in high school. All I remember is that you get less working together, but it's guaranteed. You can get more by yourself but the other guy can fuck you over.
An easier way to remember it is that cheating is individually profitable and the correct strategic play but mutually destructive.
I.e. It's correct strategically to add men to your women's soccer team but mutually destructive. The correct strategic decision making converges on everyone using only men making everyone worse off than when they started.
