I'm pretty much a carnivore. Devil's advocate, aren't many Hindu/East Indians vegan? Where do they get their protein? I think the people in this story probably weren't feeding the child much of anything.
Nope. Veganism is unique to Western dipshits. Hindu's can eat meat, but it depends on which passages they feel are more important. One section outlines ritual slaughter methods, and another curses those who kill any animals. Today, most of them are considered "lacto-vegetarian". I think vegans are only allowed to things that don't cast a shadow.

Hindus are vegetarians not vegans - they eat loads of dairy foods (milk, yogurt, cheese) So they're still getting a lot of nutrients that vegans lack.

Read the article. They were feeding the baby all of the typical vegan Staples. All good foods but not supplying the nutrients that a baby needs
