Life sucks and is hard sometimes. Any ideology that tells you otherwise is going to leave you hurt and confused when things go wrong because you can't find it in you to "be awesome instead".

Things get better and they get worse, sometimes through no fault that you can pin down. Sometimes you just have to ride out a shitty time in your life. In my experience (and I've literally been in a couple of psych wards) when times get tough, you should focus on the basics: eat clean, sleep consistently, exercise, read, keep a clean house. It gives you a baseline level of heath and psych wellbeing that's entirely under your control. And when you stumble on those steps you're probably still ahead of where most people are.

I guess to me, being "red pilled" is about seeing bad times coming, recognizing you're not responsible for society as a whole but are responsible for yourself, and trying to be one of the good men who spawn good times, not one of the weak and lazy men who spawn hard times.
