The following message still displays for new users when first accessing the site:
Users can earn a percentage of our ad-revenue share for the content they submit.
@PuttItOut
I'd like to talk about whether or not we're allowed to see who profits from spreading content on Voat, as per the message, as well as how much they make from doing so. After all, this is a largely community funded website, is it not?
Are we allowed to ask about this, or will someone that makes a post about this get brigaded so they won't talk about it? It looks like there's some users here who aren't fond of me asking these questions. Good thing this is a free speech platform, entirely devoid of stasi/masonic gang stalking to prevent dissent, right?
Also, for anyone that's not just here to shift my meaning or crack consensus, no, I'm not calling anybody a shill. I'm referring to the message one receives when they access Voat from a new device, when a user clears their cookies, or if someone accesses Voat from a new private window.
I tried to ask this question a few hours ago but the post got bombarded within ten minutes by people that stalk me on this site. I think the community deserves to have these questions addressed.

To my knowledge, there has never been an announcement stating that users actually receive any revenue for posting here. I think that message is almost as old as Voat itself, a relic of an old idea that never got implemented. Voat didn't even have ad revenue for a very long time.
I've mentioned this at least once before and I do think the message should be removed if it is not true, and if it is true -- and I do not think it is -- then there should have been clarification or elaboration a long time ago.

My plan to have people ping you instead of me is working flawlessly. Soon I will be forgotten, and you will have a never ending inbox. ;)
Also, your answer is correct.
We still want to do this somehow, but obviously being banned from an entire financial industry has various setbacks associated with it.

Heh, you still got pinged in the submission! We'll have to push the "I am you" meme harder.
Mm, that certainly complicates matters.

I know you probably already looked into this since it is obvious but Crypto Currencies would be an ideal way to circumvent all the bank bullshit. The shit part would be your advertisers not paying you in crypto which will leave you with the unenviable task of going from Fiat to Crypto. Make no mistake, that is the worst part of the process. Alternatively make your advertisers pay you in crypto only and shrink the number of advertisers substantially. Also, you will then have the unenviable task of holding a very volatile currency which sucks ass.
There are "stablecoins" out there. These are things like TUSD (Trueusd) These coins are pegged to the dollar and claim to have verifiable dollar reserves to match the quantity of crypto out there. This is a very valuable idea because it lets you use 'dollars' as a crypto-currency. Anyone can transfer easily from one to the other with TUSD simply by making a deposit in their bank account, recieving their crypto and then paying YOU.

You could hire @PeaceSeeker as your official executive secretary tasked with screening all of your inbox traffic, and then just code the software to redirect all of your traffic to @PeaceSeeker's inbox.
Important people have to do this. That way you'll know the people who manage to trick @PeaceSeeker into giving them direct access to you are the truly slippery scumbags:)

And what if you become corrupted? Then do \theirguys\ get to work this system to benefit from spreading tainted truth via their psyop model?
If you don't have a switch planted, you really should consider it.
