Post that to v/Aww as well.

THAT IS STAGGERING collection.

Keep in mind the odd birds holding peculiar items at the feeder are considering OFFERING EXCHANGE GIFTS.

Many bird species TRADE GIFTS!

Some trade silver foil.

Some trade blue color items only.

Some trade "nest fluff"

Many birds offer and leave gifts but you do not see it because OTHER birds typicall snatch the gifts left at feeders.

MOST JAYS bring gifts (all jay species)

Even Crows will trade humans gifts !!!: :

That's really neat!

I started feeding birds year before last. I had to stop bc I lived in suburbia hell and my neighbor paid exorbitant amounts of money for his grass to be tended twice a month. By the third month I fed the birds I noticed my feed was germinating in his grass... Yikes! I felt terrible and had my husband help me pick it out every time it popped up. I stopped feeding the birds too. But luckily we live in the country now and I don't mind weeds in the grass! I will keep an eye out for "presents" but their presence is nice enough 😊

I heard sunflower seeds only causes no real issues, or peanut "hearts" which definitely cannot germinate.
