Good article. The author also writes as Sultan Knish, I've been reading his work for years. Not everything he writes do I agree with, but most of it.

The last civil war was about the supremacy of the States via the 10th amendment to a constitution that was meant to limit the power of the federal government. The slaves issue was added on later. Lincoln was not on board with freeing the slaves when running for office.
