I hope the senate holds it back or Trump vetos it.

[–] virge [S] 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Bad news, sir. Just yesterday, the Senate passed the same bill - unanimously.

As much as I hate to admit it outside the confines of my noggin', I'm leaning more and more to the side of the "shut it down permanently and lay them all off" side every single day with how this ridiculous comedy of errors is being presented to the public.

These kind of antics are startlingly capable of directing the attention of the two distinctly propaganda-segregated demographics of the US population with ever-increasing (more importantly, observable) fidelity. It can't help but become more and more obvious over a period of time just how intentional it all is. I suspect there are few predictable outcomes if this trend is to continue, or even worse if it were to accelerate.

How does one reach out to one's president to discuss this issue nationally?

[–] itsFine 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

The easiest way is through the Russians. But be careful; the Democrats are catching on. Shhhh

[–] rektumsempra 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Man I hope Trump vetoes it. They're already all rich and unlike everybody else Trump didn't take a government salary at the taxpayer's expense.

[–] FuckBlackRifleCoffee 1 points 0 points (+1|-1) ago  (edited ago)

If it passes by more then 2/3 it can't be vetoed, well maybe it can but it will become law anyways.

[–] lissencarak 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago

Well, they don't want to be called racists.

Most of the "not essential" government workers are niggers and spics, and it's a jobs program for non-whites.

[–] Thisismyvoatusername 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Fuck them. Just lay them off so they can find new private sector jobs which contribute to the economy instead of hang like deaweight inefficiencies around the necks of the taxpayers.

[–] watts2db 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Ive known of a few government workers (conservative ones). that are using this as an opportunity to make extra money or other constructive things

[–] prairie 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Just lay them off so they can find new private sector jobs which contribute to the economy

They probably are already working another job. So they're getting paid double for their time. Cha-ching!

[–] CaliforniaOrange 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

they can find new private sector jobs

If they could they wouldn’t be sucking on the federal government.

[–] anoncastillo 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Government pays a lot better for how little work they do.

Amash is one of the few arabs I wouldn't deport/kill. Top tier human being.

[–] Blehblehbleh73 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Thank you. Also, fuck my rep.

[–] Thyhorrorcosmic103 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Fucking leeches.

[–] AR47 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

That don’t pay their bills today does it?

You think creditors will wait more than 60 days? I don’t.

[–] virge [S] 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

I believe it extremely unrealistic anyone would lose their homes or ding their credit over this. Even if you live paycheck to paycheck there are literally Government Credit Unions designed specifically to validate you are a public servant and give you a 0% interest loan until you get paid - with the bill passed both the House and Senate, it's already guaranteed you'll be able to pay it back.

This argument is ridiculous at best, asinine at worst.

[–] AR47 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Their home? No but their insurance, car, license, cell phone, internet, cable, and quite a few other things.

But you want to jump off the deep end? Sure if it goes more than 60 days you really think that bank will remain soluble? I am betting it won’t and likely some will get fucked.

[–] NoTrueScotsman 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Are there any banks or credit unions offering that to people who weren't already a member at that institution?

I'm genuinely interested, I have family in the border patrol who are worried about their lack of pay during the shutdown.

[–] prairie 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

That don’t pay their bills today does it?

Having a savings pays the bill when you aren't getting income.

[–] AR47 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

330,000,000 people in the USA and 800,000 workers right? What is that percentage?

See if that correlation is with the national average of Americans with savings more than 5000.

[–] CaliforniaOrange 1 points 4 points (+5|-1) ago  (edited ago)

Government workers are all democrats.

Let them starve, then maybe they’ll say fuck nanny government...oh wait I forgot, they’re literally leeches who will never get off the tit they’re sucking on.

Fuck them, just like they said fuck me for my vote in 2016.

[–] DoneAndDone 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

In YOUR state, maybe.

[–] CaliforniaOrange 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

What is your state where government workers are not democrat?

[–] FuckBlackRifleCoffee 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

You'd be surprised.
