you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself

Capital and opportunity costs make this untrue. It doesn't really have anything to do with government crowding out private enterprise, which is done with stolen money and labor.

[–] anoncastillo 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Yeah, that was the one and only line in the story that struck me as untrue.

[–] TheSeer 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

That is only true of productive people, though.

[–] Gislisson 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Sure it is, why would I spend an hour shoveling snow when I could bill out that hour at a higher rate than the neighbors kid.

[–] lemon11 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

No. An ubermensch can do everything better, can be self-sufficient in a state of nature. But it's still cheaper in terms of opportunity costs and capital costs to buy something that's already been made by morons to save the time and effort.

I can repair the brakes on my car, and do it cheaper than a pro at a shop. But I don't, because I don't want to take the chance of killing my family saving a few dollars (if the 'fixed' brakes don't work) and if I survive the wreck there is someone to sue.

Same is true for the gas furnace in my basement.

You don’t have to be incompetent.

[–] Blehblehbleh73 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

This reminds me of something I heard from Ben Shapiro a few years back (I know, don't even start). Said something along the lines of a single hoagie sandwich costing thousands of dollars over the coarse of a year or so if you completely create it by your own hand (raise the livestock, grow the wheat, etc.).

[–] Dewannawonga 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

That is a really great analogy. What forum is it from?

[–] NeedleStack [S] 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

This is the post where I saw it but you have to be a member on Ravelry to see it I'm afraid.

[–] BumFightChamp 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

oh, it is literally a conservative knitting forum. I thought that was just a euphemism for tactical gun forum lol

[–] Simonsaysgoat 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Excellent post

[–] Gislisson 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Agreed. similar to the idea of how to boil a frog. But as I was reading it I thought, what if the pigs were armed to the teeth?

And doesn't that explain the relentless push for gun control.

[–] Simonsaysgoat 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

I think so. Then again were occupied as a country, even with our guns.

There’s a ton of trap videos on Utube. The secret is to slowly get them use to the free food. The leaders will remain skittish and must be eliminated or the team will rebound. Mass extermination is the game. The free pig is too unpredictable for the farmer (elites).

[–] NosebergShekelman 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

he leaders will remain skittish and must be eliminated or the team will rebound

JFK was (((assassinated)))

Or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MHr3yLWMVU (0:18)

People have been predicting 'end times' for quite awhile now, and thinking that "things can't get much worse than this." Whenever it's going to happen, it's sure looking like things are going to get a lot worse.

[–] NeedleStack [S] 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

That's a pretty terrifying clip when you compare it to what's going on now.
