Religion is nothing without absolutism in recognizing heaven and hell, God and satan. It defeats the whole point of spirituality, to ignore hell

Why does it? With so many religions to choose from how would we know which is correct , if any?

Because God gives us all that opportunity. Judaism is dead, Islam is a twisted hateful reinvention, Hinduism is changed with the whim of political leaders into a very odd religion. Shintoism is pokemon, and buddhism isn't even a religion. It's about worshipping yourself.

You would do well to read chapter 5 of the Great Divorce by CS Lewis. It's about an apostate who questions everything, even while in hell, he cannot fathom that hell is real. The whole chapter is a rebuttal of William Blake's 'the marriage of heaven and hell' which has ideas similar to what you're talking about
