The farmers may not be in a position to sell their assets (livestock and equipment). So they may need to take a bigger hit unfortunately.

They should under no circumstances leave their farm in a full running state. Any equipment that can be sabotaged should be:

  • put sand/metal scraps in the sump, gearbox and diffs of all machinery. Also in hydraulic systems.
  • cut the power wires for any submersible bore pumps.
  • loosen or remove structural bolts on buildings and tiedowns of grain silos.
  • rig electrical equipment to sorry circuit or electrocute any operator.
  • set fire to any residential/other buildings on leaving.

I'm not sure what to do with the livestock. The most humane thing may be to just shoot them, as the invaders will not know how to properly care for them and they will suffer.

True. But, really, in the long run it hardly matters what state it's in before a pack of 70 IQ fools runs it into the ground.

Don't forget to salt the shit out of the land. They'll never grow anything on it again.
