My kid's private school has armed teachers. They keep it very quiet. It's not anything anyone would know unless you talked to the admins behind closed doors.
At least one public school district in our state has armed teachers, but the public schools have to be more open about it. The private schools can do whatever they feel is best for the education and safety of their clients.
My understanding is that this is becoming far more common for private schools (outside the heavy authoritarian states of NY, NJ, CA, etc.)
