It's okay to make jokes about the president. No person or subject should be so taboo that a joke cannot be made about him/her/it. But there is a difference between making a joke about something/someone and just bashing that subject to further a political agenda. Somewhere along the lines a lot of comedians decided they wanted to be political pundits instead of funny people. Fine, that's their decision. But they can't expect people who paid for a show to come and laugh to like it when they are preached at instead about the comedian's political beliefs.
I've seen one comic so far make a good joke about President Trump. It was good because it wasn't mean spirited or hateful. Some time actually when into making up the joke. The delivery was good and his punchline wasn't just "Fuck Trump". It wasn't a great joke by any means, but it at least got me to laugh which is the whole point. The bit I'm referring to is by John Mulaney and it's about the president being a horse in a hospital. Some other goats might still find it to not be your cup of tea, but that's just like your opinion man.
